Updates to NSW Micro business Grants

Businesses in regional areas of NSW with an aggregated turnover between $30,000 and $75,000 that have experienced a 30% reduction in turnover are now eligible.

In Brief

  • Micro-business Grants are now available to businesses in regional areas subject to COVID-19 restrictions
  • Businesses will now need to nominate the fortnight within which the decline was first experienced
  • Payments will be back-dated from that nominated fortnight

The Services NSW COVID-19 website for Micro-business Grants has been updated.  Businesses in regional areas with an aggregated turnover between $30,000 and $75,000 that have experienced a 30% decline in turnover due to COVID-19 restrictions are now eligible for Micro-business Grants.

The updated guidelines now show that Micro-business Grant is available in relation to any lockdown restrictions (not just Greater Sydney) from 26 June 2021. It should be noted that there is no longer an end period.

Micro-business Grant applicants will need to maintain their headcount from the day immediately prior to the fortnight the business first experienced the required decline in turnover, for the period the business is receiving grant payments.

The Micro-business Grant payments will be payable in arrears. Businesses will need to nominate the 2-week period in which they first experienced the required decline in turnover on or after the commencement of the Micro-business Grant scheme on 26 June 2021. Once approved, payments will begin from that nominated fortnight.
