Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand is proud to publish its Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement for FY25.

Modern slavery refers to situations of exploitation where individuals are unable to refuse or leave due to threats, violence, coercion or deception. This includes forced labour, debt bondage, human trafficking, forced marriage and the exploitation of children. It is estimated that more than 50 million people globally are affected by modern slavery.

This is CA ANZ's sixth annual Statement since Australia’s Modern Slavery Act 2018 (Cth) came into force. It explains the policies, systems and processes we have adopted to assess our modern slavery risks, eradicate or minimise the risks we do identify and uphold mechanisms that keep our management team vigilant and accountable. This includes:

  • continuing to embed our modern slavery risk management program
  • reviewing and updating key policies including for workplace behaviour, anti-bribery, corruption and procurement
  • introducing new tools and training to help our members avoid modern slavery risks

Eradicating modern slavery remains part of CA ANZ’s advocacy to influence relevant standards, legislation and policy decisions in the public interest. Our aim is to support a profession that is inclusive, safe and respectful – one that reflects the diverse communities our members serve.
