Provisional skills assessment

Provisional (subclass 485 visa – graduate work stream) skills assessment criteria:

  • degree comparability – you must hold an Australian bachelor’s degree or 12 unit Australian master’s degree in accounting or relevant field (business, commerce or economics)
  • competency areas – you must successfully complete mandatory competency areas relevant to your nominated occupation
  • English Language proficiency – you must provide evidence that you have met the English language proficiency requirement for provisional skills assessment

Before applying for a provisional skills assessment, please note: Applicants with a Bachelor’s degree or above also have access to the Post-Study Work stream of the Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) which does not require applicants to nominate an occupation or obtain a skills assessment. Please refer to Department of Home Affairs for visa requirements.

It is important to note that the Department of Home Affairs has mandated new English language requirements for the Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485), effective from 23 March 2024. This change may impact your eligibility for the Temporary Graduate Visa (subclass 485). We strongly advise you to refer to the Department's official website for detailed information regarding the revised visa requirements.
