Application outcome
Understanding your assessment outcome – find out what your results means and what to do next.
Your application outcome
Once we finish assessing your application, you will receive an outcome letter. This letter includes:
- Whether you are suitable for the occupation you nominated
- How your qualifications compare to an Australian bachelor’s degree
- Whether your studies cover the required competency areas
- Confirmation of your English language proficiency
- Assessment of your work experience, if included
- Advice on further study, how to fill any knowledge gaps, and how to request a review or reassessment
- Information about membership options and employability
Why a qualification might be ‘Not Suitable’
Your qualification may be assessed as ‘not suitable’ if:
- It lacks comparability to an Australian bachelor’s degree under the Australian Qualifications Framework
- Your transcript does not show subjects in the required competency areas
- There is not enough coverage of key topics in the required competency areas
- You did not meet the required level in a specific competency area.
- You fail to meet the English language requirement in any one or more of the four components: speaking, reading, listening, and writing
- There is not enough evidence to support your application.
- There is suspected or confirmed fraud
Bridging study options
If your outcome shows you need more study, you can:
- Complete subjects through the CA Foundations Pathway
- Study with a CA ANZ’s accredited university or provider (Accredited Tertiary Courses - ATC)
Note: CA ANZ welcomes individuals who wish to enrol in individual CA Foundations subjects to meet competency areas identified in their migration skills assessment. You do not need to be a Provisional Member to enrol for this purpose.
Please note that enrolling in individual CA Foundations subjects does not confer Provisional Membership status, nor does it guarantee future admission into the full CA Foundations program or the Chartered Accountants Program.
Why skilled employment might be ‘not acceptable or considered’
Your work experience may not be considered if:
- You do not have a suitable qualification outcome for the same nominated occupation
- Is not closely related to the nominated occupation
- Your role does not meet the required skill level
- The work experience was done before you completed your qualification
- There is not enough evidence to support your employment claim
- There is suspected or confirmed fraud
Your outcome letter
- You will receive your outcome letter by email in a secure PDF format
- It can be used as evidence for the Department of Home Affairs and may also support job applications in Australia
- The letter is valid for three years from the date of issue
If your outcome is ‘Not Suitable’
You can:
- Apply for a reassessment once you meet the criteria
- Request a review if you do not agree with the decision
