Qualification comparability
Understand how your qualifications compare to the Australian Qualifications Framework.
To apply for a migration skills assessment, you must hold a qualification that is comparable to an Australian Bachelor’s degree or higher.
Accepted qualifications
You must hold one of the following:
- An Australian Bachelor's degree or higher (AQF Level 7 or above), or
- An overseas tertiary qualification and/or professional membership that is comparable to at least an Australian Bachelor's degree (Australian Qualification Framework - AQF level 7 or higher).
Overseas qualification
When assessing overseas qualifications, CA ANZ follows the Country Education Profile (CEP) guidelines provided by the Australian Government Department of Education and also refers to UK ENIC guidelines provided by the United Kingdom, Department of Education to support qualification comparability.
For professional membership:
- If you are a full member in good standing from a recognised professional accounting body listed in CEP or UK ENIC as comparable an AQF Bachelor’s degree, your studies may be considered.
- If you are not a full member, you must hold a qualification awarded at Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) Bachelor's Degree, or its overseas equivalent.
Alternative skills recognition
To be eligible to apply for a migration skills assessment in accounting occupations, you must hold a qualification comparable to an Australian Bachelor's Degree or higher. Without such a qualification, your credentials are considered insufficient.
While work experience and professional development are valuable, migration skills assessments rely on academic evidence to confirm core competencies.
If your qualification does not fully meet the required competency areas, you may demonstrate your knowledge by completing CA Foundations program. These exams are recognised for migration skills assessment purposes and may help address gaps in your academic coverage.
