What does membership renewal involve?

To renew your Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand membership, you must log in to your My CA account, click 'Renew my Membership' in the top left-hand corner of your homepage and complete the following steps:

  • Step 1: Review and confirm your details, such as your name, address, contact numbers and current employment.
  • Step 2: Complete your Mandatory Notifications, a series of declarations to help you satisfy your member obligations. These declarations may include licences, other memberships and regulatory obligations as applicable to you. They also cover continuing professional development (CPD) hours.
    Mandatory Notifications are an integral part of the membership renewal process. They help us continue to protect the profession by ensuring our members comply with the rigour and high ethical standards which underpin the designations.
  • Step 3: Make payment of your membership fees. You will not be required to make payment if your employer has notified us they are covering your membership fees.
    Please note: The quarterly payment opt-in deadline has now passed and is no longer available.

Why can't I opt-in to quarterly payments?

The quarterly payment opt-in deadline has now passed and is no longer available.

When will the quarterly payments be debited?

If you have opted for quarterly payments, the first payment will be charged from your nominated card on 30 June 2020. The subsequent quarterly payments will be charged as follows:

  • Second quarterly payment: 30 September 2020;
  • Third quarterly payment: 31 December 2020; and
  • Fourth quarterly payment: 31 March 2021.

Can I make payments over the phone?

No. You must complete your membership renewal, including payments in My CA. 

Where do I find my Tax invoice / Receipt?

After you have completed the membership renewal in My CA, you will be directed to our payment portal, where you will be prompted to download your invoice/receipt. Your receipt will also be emailed to your nominated email address upon completion of payment. If you wish to access your invoices or receipts at a later date, simply log into My CA and click on the Orders button located at the bottom of your homepage (full member). For Provisional members, the Orders button will be visible on the middle of the homepage.

What has CA ANZ done to assist members during the COVID-19 pandemic? 

CA ANZ moved immediately to protect our members and staff by cancelling all face-to-face engagements and moved very quickly to providing members with critical information via online systems. Initiatives include the launch of the COVID-19 Resources Hub, COVID-19 Sharing Knowledge Series, pivoting many of our face-to-face CPD education to an engaging online experience, as well as the transition of the CA Program exams to online. Our advocacy team also continuing to work closely with governments to ensure the issues you face are considered in current and future policy making. When membership renewals open in June, members will have the option to pay their 2020/21 fees in quarterly instalments to help them manage their cash-flow. As the pandemic conditions continue to change, CA ANZ will continually update the services & information provided for members.

No, there has been zero increase to CA ANZ membership fees for the 2020/21 financial year.

Are membership concessions available?

Yes. We have a number of concessions available for full members on a low income, on a career break or who have permanently withdrawn from the workforce.

I haven't been able to complete the required CPD hours due to extenuating circumstances. Are CPD exemptions available?

Yes. We understand life can be unpredictable and members may not be able to meet CPD requirements. Members can apply for a full or partial CPD exemption for a variety of circumstances.

I have applied for a CPD exemption. Should I wait for this to be processed before answering the CPD question on my Mandatory Notifications?

No. You can proceed with completing your membership renewal. If we find your CPD hours are insufficient, we will assess your CPD exemption application first, before contacting you.

What is the Professional Standards Council (PSC) Levy?

The Professional Standards Council (PSC) Levy applies to all Australian holders of a Certificate of Public Practice (CPP), affiliate members and practice entity members whose services benefit from the Professional Standards Scheme.

Why do I have to setup My CA first? Why can't I go straight to the section where I renew my membership?

This is a standard one-time process required to access My CA, where the subscription renewal wizard is hosted.

If you are visiting My CA for the first time you will be taken through this quick set up before being able to process to the subscriptions process. This setup enables us to customise your experience in My CA.
