Who should apply
Affiliate membership is intended for principals or partners in Australian Chartered Accounting firms who do not hold CA ANZ membership. This includes those working in firms that use the “Chartered Accountants” designation or Practice Entity members of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ).

Eligibility criteria
To qualify for Affiliate membership applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Hold a degree equivalent to an Australian Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Have at least 5 years of full-time postgraduate experience in accountancy or a related area of expertise
- Complete the Affiliate Admission Program and the Public Practice Program
- Agree to CA ANZ’s standards of practice and professional conduct
- Demonstrate a satisfactory understanding of the ethical and public practice requirements of CA ANZ, and Public Practice Program
- Agree to be bound by the Chartered Accountants ANZ Royal Charter, By-laws, and Regulations.
What you need to apply
Your application must include:
- a completed Affiliate membership application form
- certified copies of your degree certificates or academic transcripts
- a copy of your firm letterhead
- a copy of your Professional Indemnity Insurance certificate of currency
- a completed Change of Practice Entity Membership Details form (if applicable).
Important information
Affiliate membership is linked to your current role in the practice. If you leave the firm, your membership will end.
As an affiliate member, you cannot hold a Certificate of Public Practice (CPP).
No more than 50% of voting principals in your firm may be affiliate members.

Firms in Australia may also apply for Practice Entity membership, which offers additional risk management benefits.
