Supporting elite athletes and performers manage their CA Program studies
Benefits
The CA Program Elite Athletes and Performers Program (EAPP) supports elite athletes and performers in balancing their CA Program studies with their elite activity obligations.
Your dedication to your sport or performance activity doesn’t mean you need to give up on your dream to turn your passion into a career as a CA.
Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand will recognise your commitment and offer alternative entry pathways, flexible study arrangements and other supports on you study journey to the CA designation.
The EAPP provides participants:
- pre-application advice
- a dedicated EAPP contact person who will guide and support you through your CA Program study pathway to becoming a CA
- study load flexibility and other adjustment supports that recognise your elite activities1
- health, wellbeing, study progression and advocacy support
- extended time to complete the CA Pathway if applicable due to periods of reduced study load resulting from to elite athlete or performer obligations.1

Eligibility
Athletes
Applicants must demonstrate they are a current athlete, coach, alumni athlete or emerging and developing athlete engaged in training or competition at a national or international level that meets at least one of the following criteria (or equivalent):
- Australian Level 1-5 athlete in an AIS funded sport.
- New Zealand TAPS supported athlete in a HPSNZ partnered sport.
- Member of a National Open squad or equivalent (eg AIS, HPSNZ National, Olympic or Paralympic team).
- Top 5 Open National Ranking or Top 10 Age National Ranking individual AIS listed or HSPSNZ partner sport representing or residing in Australia or New Zealand.
- Top 100 Open International Ranking or Top 200 Age International individual AIS listed or HSPSNZ partner sport representing or residing in Australia or New Zealand.
Other elite athletes currently engaged in training, competition or coaching at a national, international or professional level in an AIS listed or HSPSNZ partner sport representing or residing in Australia or New Zealand may also be eligible.
Performers
Applicants must be a current artistic performer (including musicians, dancers, actors, poet, public speaker, and debaters) and demonstrate they meet at least one of the following criteria (or equivalent):
- Member of a National Arts Company
Through a successful audition process with a documented history of sustained performances. - Member of a State Arts Company
Through a successful audition process with a documented history of sustained performances. - Significant success as a performing artist
Demonstrated success and continuing obligations in major national or international competitions or professional performances, with evidence of a rigorous selection process and impact of sustained training, rehearsals and performances on the applicant's studies. - Success as an independent performing or recording artist or creative practitioner
Documented history of national or international success and continuing obligations, and impact on the applicant’s studies.
How to apply

Review the eligibility criteria above and within the Candidate Accessibility and Inclusion Policy and Procedure. Gather any necessary supporting documents, such as a letter of support from your national or internation sport or performance organisation, recent competition results or performance schedule, and upcoming training, competition or performance schedule. |
| Step 3 | Apply for the EAPP by lodging an Elite Athlete and Performers Application (EAPP Application) along with the required supporting documentation as instructed in the application. |
