The CA Program combines a Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting (GradDipCA) higher education course with 3 years of Mentored Practical Experience (MPE). This course can be undertaken over one year with full-time study, or part time over two or more years.

CA Fundamentals
As a recent high school graduate, CA Fundamentals is designed to help you build the skills, confidence, and experience to take your first step toward becoming a Chartered Accountant (CA).
This one-year program offers a flexible, supportive learning experience that allows you to earn while you learn, gain real-world experience, and grow with guidance from mentors and expert educators.

Who's eligible?
This program is designed for recent high school graduates with less than two years of work or study experience and will teach them about the essentials of a business, the basics of accounting and study skills over a 12-month period.
Ideal for candidates:
- who are 18+ years old
- in approved employment
- who have successfully completed a High School Certificate within the last 3 years, including mathematics during the final year
- who would be eligible for entry to university post high school.
To join, you’ll need to be supported by a registered employer and apply for the program together.
Please be aware, a candidate must have access to standard MS Office 365 applications such as MS Excel at the date the course commences.
It stems from my own passion for the arts and entertainment and creativity and wanting to really work with people to help them.
Getting started
Taught over 10 months, CA Fundamentals has two intakes each year in February and June.
Enrolments for each intake close one week prior to course commencement.

Mentored Practical Experience
Your studies are combined with a Mentored Practical Experience (MPE) component where you can apply your learning in the workplace under the guidance of a qualified mentor. This hands-on experience is essential to becoming a CA and can be carried through to your CA Program studies.

Note that the workshop (optional) can only be added to a Foundations full subject purchase.
^ This represents the fee for CA Foundations full subject materials and one exam attempt. For a Full Subject enrolment candidates have six months to complete their study in the subject. Candidates will also be required to be provisional CA members to undertake CA Foundations which attracts an annual subscription fee. The current FY26 provisional CA annual member subscription fee is $452 AUD incl. GST and fee rates are reviewed in July each year. Please refer to Membership FAQs for further details.

Who's eligible
CA Foundations is a pathway to the CA Program which is open to all AU or NZ candidates who have either:
- completed a non-accredited degree (or in final year); or
- are missing some required subjects from an accredited accounting degree; or
- studied accounting at TAFE or Polytechnic; or
- 3+ years’ post high school work experience; or
- are a full Accounting Technician (AT) with CA ANZ.

CA Program
The CA Program is where your education journey transforms into a professional designation. It’s a rigorous and rewarding program that combines technical learning with real-world experience, preparing you to become a trusted advisor and difference maker in any industry.
By completing the CA Program, you earn a Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting, delivered through a series of subjects designed to build deep expertise in audit, tax, ethics and more.

Electives


CA ANZ is the only professional accounting body in Australia recognised as a Higher Education Provider and regulated by TEQSA (Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency), Australia's independent national regulator of the higher education sector. This means that the CA Program meets the Australian Higher Education standards and is recognised in the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) as a Level 8 qualification. AQF recognised qualifications are recognised as comparable Level 8 qualification under the New Zealand Qualifications and Credentials Framework (NZQCF) and across the qualification frameworks of many other countries.
Mentored Practical Experience
Your studies are combined with a Mentored Practical Experience (MPE) component where you can apply your learning in the workplace under the guidance of a qualified mentor. This hands-on experience is essential to becoming a CA and can be carried through to your CA Program studies.
CA ANZ also offers candidates enrolled in the Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting (GradDipCA) the opportunity to exit early with a Graduate Certificate in Accounting (GradCertAcc), should they decide not to complete the full CA Program required for Chartered Accountant designation and have met the requirements of this lower qualification.

Program fee
The fees associated cover the cost of the Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting (GradDipCA) component of the CA Program. An additional annual provisional membership fee is also payable.
Subject tuition fees must be paid at the time of enrolment by nominating to pay upfront by credit card or a valid employer token.

Who's eligible
To apply for the CA Program you must meet the academic and English language requirements for CA ANZ's Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting (GradDipCA) and must also:
- be eligible for admission as a provisional member of Chartered Accountants ANZ (read provisional member (CR5) requirements).
- be able to meet the inherent course requirements. If you have any concern about your ability to participate in aspects of the course, you should seek pre-enrolment advice by contacting CA ANZ Member Services.
Academic requirements
You must hold a completed CA ANZ accredited degree with sufficient coverage of the required competency areas to allow enrolment into the Ethics and Business (EB) subject or another CA Program subject.
Or you must hold a non-CA ANZ accredited degree that has been assessed by CA ANZ as equivalent to an AU or NZ Bachelor’s degree (AQF level 7 or higher) with sufficient coverage of the required competence areas to allow enrolment into the Ethics and Business (EB) subject or another CA Program subject.
If your non-accredited degree was not delivered in English, you will need to provide evidence of attainment of, and where, the degree has not be delivered in English, you will need to provide evidence of attainment of the English Language requirements.
Australia based applicants, who are not Australian citizens or permanent residents, must hold a visa that entitles them to study the CA Program. For further details, refer to the CA Program Admissions Policy and Procedure.
Citizenship, residency and visa requirements
Australia based applicants, who are not Australian citizens or permanent residents, must hold a visa that entitles them to study the CA Program.
We have adopted the general policy position that we cannot register candidates studying or seeking to study the CA Program on an Australian student visa because CA ANZ and the CA Program are not registered on the Australian Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) due to the online nature of the CA Program. CA ANZ has adopted this general policy position consistent with advice from CA ANZ's regulator.
Ultimately, candidates or potential candidates of the CA Program are responsible for ensuring they can meet the requirements to enrol in the CA Program and satisfy any visa requirements or restrictions.

Current schedule Term 3 2026
Use the below table as a guide to plan your subject study timing and progression. There are four standard academic terms each calendar year. Make sure you check the course descriptions for any assumed knowledge requirements.
You can take subjects concurrently, providing the prerequisites are met.
It is recommended that candidates wishing to study part-time enrol in one subject per term for a good study workload balance. In the first term, we recommend enrolling in Ethics and Sustainability and one other subject. Full-time study will typically take one year. Part-time study will extend over two or more years.
Each subject typically requires ten hours of directed study and five hours of personal study and preparation each week.

You must enrol in Ethics and Sustainability in your first term of study. In this term, Ethics and Sustainability can be taken before or concurrently with Core 2 and Core 3 and Elective Financial Modelling and Sustainability for Accountants. The above schedule shows the enrolment dates for subjects you may be eligible for study, please check the pre-requisite/co-requisite requirements before enrolling.
