Welcome to your first Quarterly Ethics Digest

CA ANZ launches a Quarterly Ethics Digest to strengthen professional integrity and empower Chartered Accountants to stay informed.

Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) is proud to announce the launch of the Quarterly Ethics Digest (QED): our new ethics newsletter designed to support Chartered Accountants in staying informed, confident, and connected to the ethical foundations of our profession.

Ethics is the cornerstone of the accounting profession. It’s an ongoing conversation that shapes how we serve the public, build trust, and uphold the integrity of the Chartered Accountant designation.

QED has been created to help you stay up to date with the Code of Ethics and other professional standards, while also supporting your membership obligations, including continuing professional development and public practice requirements.

Each quarter, QED will bring together a selection of carefully curated content to help you reflect, learn, and apply ethical principles in your professional life.

In this first edition, you will find:

  • A spotlight on Global Ethics Day where we’ll bring together leaders across sectors to explore the relationship between ethics and trust.
  • Discover insights from the Cranlana Centre for Ethical Leadership, a collaboration between CA ANZ and Cranlana that brings fresh perspectives on ethical leadership and our role in maintaining public trust.
  • Complimentary resources including webinars, guides, and articles to support your ethical decision making.
  • Access to support through the Chartered Accountants Advisory Group, offering free and confidential guidance on ethical dilemmas and career decisions.

Disciplinary news

As part of our professional conduct framework review, we will also be publishing disciplinary decisions in the QED.

You will be able to find recent professional conduct decisions that highlight how the Code is applied in practice, and updates to ethical and professional standards from local and international standard setters.

You will also be able to hear directly from CA ANZ’s Conduct and Discipline leaders on emerging ethics issues.

Recent disciplinary cases

Read more about the recent decisions by the CA ANZ and NZICA Disciplinary Tribunals.

QED will also help you stay up to date with changes to professional standards and other proposed changes that impact the professional by including information about CA ANZ’s submissions to standard setters and regulators and easy links to where you can find more information about important changes.
