Meet our New South Wales Council and Committees Series: NSW Young Chartered Accountants (YCA) Panel

Chartered Accountants ANZ is committed to supporting the next generation of Difference Makers by providing new, young and early-career CAs with a voice on key issues through the YCA Panel.

The NSW YCA Panel is an advisory group consisting of Chartered Accountants (CAs) within the first five years of membership, and/or 35 years or under who are connected, passionate and engaged.

The YCA Panel represents and champions the voice of young CAs in NSW to the greater membership, sharing feedback, insights and advice to CA ANZ to best support the needs and development of YCAs. They identify initiatives to help CAs hone their professional skills, find greater value in their membership, and ultimately become more involved in the community as a CA.

They also assist in the planning and development of events relevant to YCAs, from networking to Strategies for Success (personal and professional development), sports, wellbeing and social events. Events like these provide YCAs the opportunity to meet other industry professionals, gain a more diverse perspective, new ideas, and advance their careers by actively engaging and contributing to the industry.

In the wider membership there is high energy, positivity, and enthusiasm to support members during an important part of their careers, and the YCA Panels provide this opportunity to give back. Our main goal is to ultimately increase YCAs engagement in the CA community.

YCA panelists act as a liaison between CA ANZ (local and global teams, councils and committees and key members), YCAs, Provisional members and the community at large.

The functions of the YCA Panels are to:

  • collect input on new, young and early-career members’ needs and preferences
  • identify issues facing provisional members and newly designated CAs
  • present the opinions and ideas of YCAs to CA ANZ
  • facilitate access to networking and professional development
  • implement a variety of initiatives and events.

The panel consists of a broad cross-section of members representing the diversity of industries our members work in, with diverse roles both within finance and beyond. The panel comprises:

  • Chair
  • Vice-Chair
  • Panel members
