Celebrating our members achieving milestones across Brisbane
The event honoured our members who have worn the CA badge with pride over the years.
In Brief
- The event hosted members celebrating 40 and 50 anniversary milestones
- Hearing from members on their highlights during their membership
On Wednesday 9 April, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) hosted a high tea at the RIVA Kitchen and Events in Brisbane to celebrate our members’ milestones achieved in the Brisbane region.
This event honoured members who have worn the CA badge for 40, 50 and 60 years. It was an opportunity for past colleagues to reunite, old acquaintances to reconnect and multigenerational relationships to flourish.
The event was hosted by CA ANZ Queensland Regional Manager, Mark Doorly. A warm welcome by Mark was followed by high tea canapés and networking opportunities. Jillian Richards FCA, Queensland Regional Council Member assisted with the presentation of certificates. She noted that we are seeing women coming through at our 40+ year milestone presentations, highlighting the progress in a profession that was male dominated for many years.,
During the formal presentations, members were able to hear their answers to the registration questions – what is your greatest achievement as a Chartered Accountant thus far? And if you could give yourself one piece of advice when you first became a Chartered Accountant, what would it be?
Some members noted their greatest achievement was mentoring and nurturing future Chartered Accountants, whilst others mentioned becoming Partner at their firms.
A common theme with one piece of advise from our milestone recipients was take the time to think before acting. Give yourself the space to breathe before making a decision, and follow your gut.
We congratulate all who celebrated milestones on the day, as well as all who are celebrating milestones, but could not be present on the day.
