Professor Nives Botica-Redmayne FCA, Professor Emeritus Ann Tarca PhD FCA, and Stephen (Steve) Walker FCA are the latest senior members to receive Life Membership.

Professor Nives Botica-Redmayne FCA
Professor Nives Botica-Redmayne has built a distinguished academic career at Massey University, spanning more than 20 years. She began as a Senior Lecturer in Accountancy in 2005, became Associate Professor in 2019, and since 2023, serves as Professor and Accounting Discipline Lead for the School of Accountancy, Economics and Finance.
Nives actively contributes to professional bodies, regulatory and standard-setting groups. She has served on several NZICA groups and panels, was a NZ Council Member (2017–2020), and CA ANZ Councillor (2017–2018). In 2019, she became CA ANZ NZ Vice President, then CA ANZ President in 2021. She currently sits on the CA ANZ NZ Council Fellowship Sub-Committee.
Nives has been an AFAANZ member since 1997, joined the Board in 2022 and became President in 2024.
She holds a Bachelor and Master of Science from the University of Zagreb and a PhD from Massey University.
Professor Emeritus Ann Tarca PhD FCA
Professor Emeritus Ann Tarca is a globally respected academic and accounting standard setter. She has made significant contributions to accounting research, education and standard setting.
Ann’s academic career began in 1998 as Professor at the University of Western Australia, a role she held until 2017. She also served as Professor at the University of Amsterdam Business School in 2007. Her other roles include Academic Fellow at the IFRS Foundation, Board Member and Research Director at the Australian Accounting Standards Board, and Board Member at the IFRS Foundation UK.
Ann holds a PhD from the University of Western Australia and became a CA ANZ Fellow in 2010.
She has served on the Education Committee of the American Accounting Association, co-authored the textbook Accounting Theory (7th Edition, Wiley, 2010), and is published in leading international journals. Ann also sits on editorial boards for several Australian and international journals.
Stephen (Steve) Walker FCA
Steve began his career at the Audit Office (now Audit New Zealand). He joined NZICA in 1995, holding roles as Project Manager, Manager and Secretariat. He was seconded to IFAC as Technical Manager for the Public Sector Committee (now the International Public Sector Standards Board). In 2002, Steve became Director of Operations for IFAC in New York, serving until 2008. Since 2009, he has been Executive Director at Audit New Zealand.
Steve has played a key role in accounting professional bodies. He served on the NZICA (now CA ANZ) Council (2009–2016), chaired the NZ Regional Council as Vice President (2017–2018), and was CA ANZ President in 2019. He has chaired the NZICA Regulatory Board since 2022.
Steve holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration (BCA) and BCA Honours (First Class) from Victoria University of Wellington. He is also an honorary CIPFA member.
