Terms and Conditions

  1. Information on how to enter the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand Member Satisfaction Survey Competition (Competition) and how to win a Prize (defined below) form part of these terms and conditions (Terms and Conditions). Participation in this Competition is deemed acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. This Competition is not valid in conjunction with any other offer. To the extent of any inconsistency between these Terms and Conditions and any other reference to this Promotion, these Terms and Conditions prevail.
  2. The Competition is a game of chance for a prize which may be won by Eligible Entrants (defined below) who submit an Eligible Entry (defined below) in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
  3. The promoter is Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand ABN 50 084 642 571 of 33 Erskine Street, Sydney NSW 2000, Australia (Promoter or CA ANZ). CA ANZ is an Australian registered body corporate which is formed in Australia and the members of CA ANZ are not liable for the debts and liabilities of CA ANZ.
  4. The Competition commences at 10:00am (NZST) on 12 May 2026 and ends at 10:00am (NZST) on 2 June 2026 (Competition Period). The Competition Period may be extended in the Promoter’s sole discretion.
  5. Definitions

    In these Terms and Conditions:

    • Authority has the meaning given to it in clause 11(a).Business Day means a day that is not Saturday, Sunday, or a public holiday in Australia or New Zealand.
    • Draw Date has the meaning given to it in clause 10.
    • Survey means the 2026 CA ANZ Member Satisfaction Survey (May).
    • Eligible Entrant or “Eligible Entry” has the meaning given to it in clause 7.
    • Prizes means a total of twenty-five (25) prizes, with a combined total value of up to AUD$25,000. Each Prize consists of a pre-paid Prezzee gift card equal in value to the applicable CA ANZ membership subscription fees for the Winner (being either the membership subscription fees for a Full CA ANZ Member or Provisional Member based on the value of the membership subscription of the country in which the Winner is located, either Australia or New Zealand). The fees as of 28th April 2026 for Full Membership are $899 (AU), $971 (NZD), and for Provisional Membership is $452 (AUD), $483 (NZD).. The Prizes do not cover any additional CA ANZ membership fees such as Certificate of Public Practice holders, Specialisations or anything other than the value of the membership subscription for a Full or Provisional Member and “Prize” means any one of such Prizes, as the context requires.
    • Unclaimed Prize Draw has the meaning given to it in clause 11.
    • Unclaimed Prize Draw Date has the meaning given to it in clause 11.
    • Unclaimed Prize Winner has the meaning given to it in clause 11.
    • Winner means the winner of a Prize in the Competition.
  6. Privacy
    These Terms and Conditions incorporate CA ANZ’s privacy policy which is available at www.charteredaccountantsanz.com/privacy-policy (“Privacy Policy”) and the collection statement at the end of these Terms and Conditions (“Collection Statement”). By entering this Competition, entrants' consent to the use of their personal information in accordance with the Privacy Policy and Collection Statement.
  7. Eligibility and Entries
    To be eligible to participate in this Competition, an entrant must:
  8. be a natural person (and not be a company, business, trust or organisation of any description) who is an active CA ANZ member (either a Full Member of CA ANZ or a Provisional Member of CA ANZ in Australia or New Zealand) and must be an Australian or New Zealand resident with an Australian or New Zealand residential address and aged 18 years or over;
  9. not be an employee or board member of CA ANZ;
    • be opted in to receive marketing communications to receive a survey invitation and submit a completed Survey during the Competition Period.
  10. complete the Survey once and only one Prize will be available to be won per individual;
  11. comply with any reasonable direction of the Promoter,
    (Each eligible entry an “Eligible Entry” and each eligible entrant an “Eligible Entrant”).
    Note on the first week of the survey opening, all entries will be doubled.
    All full, active CA ANZ and Provisional Members who complete the Survey will be automatically entered into the Competition.
  12. Draw
  13. This Competition is a game of chance. Skill plays no part in determining the winner. All valid entries have a fair and equal chance of winning.
  14. The Winners of each Prize will be drawn at random out of all Eligible Entries on 3 June 2026 (Draw Date). The draw will be held at 10am (NZST) at Level 8 Tangihua Street, Auckland Central Auckland 1010 , New Zealand, or online where Entrants may attend on this Teams meeting link..  Where an Eligible Entrant is drawn as a Winner of a Prize, and that Eligible Entrant has been allocated additional Eligible Entries pursuant to clause 8, then that Winner of a Prize is ineligible for the subsequent Prize draws.
  15. The Winners will be contacted by telephone by CA ANZ and notified in writing by the Promoter by email to the Winners’ email address within 7 days of the Draw Date (by 9 June 2026). Prize Winners will also be announced on the Promoter’s website and each Prize Winner’s first name, last name, state or region, and post code will be published on the Promoter’s website. Prizes will be distributed to Winners within 28 days of the Draw Date.  If a Winner cannot be contacted within 3 months of the Draw Date (by 9 September 2026), after every reasonable effort has been taken by the Promoter to contact the Winner, or if a Winner fails to comply with these Terms and Conditions, the Promoter will either:
  16. contact the relevant New Zealand or Australian authority (only in the Northern Territory and Western Australia) (Authority) and will comply with the direction of the relevant authority when dealing with the unclaimed or forfeited Prize, including conducting a re-draw; or
  17. conduct a re-draw at 10am (AEST) on 9 September 2026 at 8 Tangihua Street, Auckland Central, Auckland 1010 for the unclaimed Prize (in New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory, Victoria, South Australia, Tasmania and Queensland) after 3 months of the Draw Date.
  18. With the consent of the relevant Authority (if required as above), the Promoter will conduct a re-draw for each prize that was unclaimed or forfeited at the same place and in the same way as at the Draw Date (Unclaimed Prize Draw). The Unclaimed Prize Draw will take place as soon as reasonably practicable after 3 months of the Draw Date (Unclaimed Prize Draw Date). The Winner announced at the Unclaimed Prize Draw Date will be a Winner of the Prize (Unclaimed Prize Winner). The Unclaimed Prize Winner will be notified that they have won a Prize in the same manner as each Winner was notified. These Terms and Conditions apply to an Unclaimed Prize Winner as if they were a Winner. The names of the Unclaimed Prize Winners (if any) will be published on CA ANZ’s website (with each Unclaimed Prize Winner’s first initial, surname and postcode), along with the state or region, and post code. The Promoter will distribute the Prizes to each Unclaimed Prize Winner by email. The email will include information in relation to claiming the Prize and may request details for the purposes of delivering the Prize.
  19. It is the responsibility of each Winner or Unclaimed Prize Winner (if any) to provide the Promoter with their correct personal information to receive their Prize.
  20. The Promoter takes no responsibility for any delay in delivery, damage to or loss in transit of the Prize. This includes any loss, damage or issue arising from unsafe, incorrect or unauthorised practices when registering or receiving or using the gift card.
  21. At any time during communication with a Winner or with an entrant (whether an Eligible Entrant or otherwise), the Promoter may reasonably request further information from that person, including to verify the identity of the entrant, that the entrant is an Eligible Entrant and that the entrant has complied with these Terms and Conditions.
  22. If a Prize is unavailable, the Promoter, in its absolute discretion (subject to regulatory approval), may substitute the Prize with a prize of equal or greater value.
  23. The Promoter may, at any time, verify the validity of entries and entrants (whether Eligible Entries and Eligible Entrants, or not), and disqualify any entrant who does not comply with these Terms and Conditions, who tampers with the entry process, or who is not otherwise an Eligible Entrant. Errors or omissions may be accepted in the Promoter's absolute discretion.
  24. Prizes are otherwise not transferable, exchangeable, or redeemable for cash.
  25. General
  26. The Promoter’s decisions shall be final and the Promoter will not engage in any correspondence with respect to its decisions except as required by law. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.
  27. If this Competition is interfered with in any way or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter, including, but not limited to, technical difficulties, unauthorised intervention or fraud, the Promoter reserves the right, in its sole discretion (subject to regulatory approval), to the fullest extent permitted by law (a) to disqualify any Eligible Entrant; or (b) to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the Competition, as appropriate.
  28. Each Eligible Entrant releases the Promoter (including its respective officers, employees and agents) from all liability (including negligence), for any personal injury, or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity) whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the Competition, including, but not limited to, where arising out of the following: (a) any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the Promoter’s control); (b) any theft, unauthorised access or third party interference; (c) any entry that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether or not after their location by the Promoter) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter; (d) any tax liability incurred by an entrant, Eligible Entrant or Winner; or (e) use of the Prize.
  29. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude, restrict, or modify any consumer rights under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) ("CCA"), the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (NZ) (“CGA”) or any other legislation which may not be excluded, restricted or modified by agreement. If the CCA, CGA or any other legislation implies a condition, warranty or term into the Terms and Conditions or provides statutory guarantees in connection with these Terms and Conditions, in respect of goods and services supplied (if any), the Promoter's liability for breach of such a condition, warranty, other term or guarantee is limited (at the Promoter's election) to the extent it is able to do so: (a) in the case of supply of goods, the Promoter doing any one or more of the following: (i) replacing the goods or supplying equivalent goods (ii) repairing the goods (iii) paying the cost of replacing the goods or of acquiring equivalent goods; and/or (iv) paying the cost of having the goods repaired; or (b) in the case of supply of services, the Promoter doing either or both of the following: (i) supply the services again; and/or (ii) paying the cost of having the services supplied again.
  30. The entrant will be subject to the laws and courts of the relevant jurisdictional authority where the entrant ordinarily resides. These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Eligible Entrants submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales. This permit will be issued for South Australian residents under South Australian Law.

This Collection Statement contains details about how Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand ABN 50 084 642 571 (CA ANZ or we or us) may collect, hold, use and disclose personal information about you in relation to the BHI Survey Competition (Competition). Your participation in this Competition is subject to the Competition Terms and Conditions.

Why does CA ANZ collect your personal information?

The primary purposes for which CA ANZ collects your personal information is to:

  • process your responses to the Survey;
  • process your entry into the Competition; and
  • administer the Competition.

You agree that we may also use your personal information for related secondary purposes including to:

  • manage and administer events and/or programs; and
  • otherwise communicate with you.

Providing CA ANZ with your personal information is not required by law.  However, if you do not provide your personal information, we may be unable to process your application for participation in the Competition.

How does CA ANZ collect your personal information?

We will collect your personal information directly from you when you submit an entry to the Competition. This is done through attaching your information stored with CA ANZ to the survey email invitation which you receive.

What kinds of personal information will CA ANZ collect about you?

The kinds of personal information that we collect will depend on what we have stored in our customer base and what you provide within the survey, but may include your:

  • full name;
  • email address;
  • mobile phone number;
  • country of residence; and
  • your opinions of CA ANZ.

Who do we disclose your personal information to?

We may disclose your personal information to agents, contractors and service providers (such as where we outsource functions to third parties) to administer the Competition and to facilitate the awarding of the Prize if you are a Winner.

Disclosure of your personal information to overseas recipients

It is unlikely that your personal information will be disclosed to overseas recipients.
