General Questions

Navigating your CPD Log

  • How does the CPD Log work?
CA ANZ will automatically log your CPD hours when you purchase a CPD product from the CA ANZ store. Once you have completed the learning activity, simply ‘Confirm’ the new education record and see how it adds CPD hours to your CPD Log.
  • I recently became a full member. When does my CPD triennium start?
A Member’s first triennium commences on 1 July in the financial year following the date of admission of the Member. For Members admitted prior to 1 July 1994, their first triennium commenced on 1 July 1994.
  • Which CPD do I have to record myself?

Some CPD products are offered by Learning Partners and while you find them on the CA ANZ store, you are redirected to the partner’s website for purchase. Therefore, CA ANZ will not be able to send the CPD to your log and you will need to create a ‘New’ record in your log.

When this happens, you can create a ‘New’ record in log for any CPD you have acquired from other websites and providers, including LinkedIn Learning.

  • How do I track my CPD obtained through the Public Practice Program (PPP)?
CPD obtained through the PPP will automatically be uploaded to your CPD log. 5 hours will be allocated to verifiable ethics for the PPP Essentials and 13 hours for the PPP workshop will be allocated to verifiable.
  • How do I track my CPD obtained through conferences?
The Conferences team will record your attendance for in-person conferences. For virtual conferences, your attendance is tracked automatically. Please allow up to one week for this attendance to be reflected in your log.
  • How do I track my CPD obtained through Special Interest Group or Roadshows?
Your local Member Engagement Team will record your attendance and update your log. Please allow up to a week for this attendance to be reflected in your log.
  • I have received a refund for a CPD product, do I need to remove the record?
Yes, if you have purchased a CPD product from CA ANZ and go on to receive a refund, you will need to delete the record from your log.
  • Will LinkedIn Learning automatically update my CPD Log?
No, because LinkedIn Learning courses are not provided by CA ANZ directly. You will need to update your own CPD Log via My CA by obtaining evidence of course completion, which is easily accessed through your LinkedIn Learning account. Certificates of completion include the length of the course. Head here for more FAQs on LinkedIn Learning.
  • I have a duplicate record in my CPD Log.

You can delete the record you no longer want in your log. If you accidentally delete a record, you can create a ‘New’ record or contact Member Support.*

*This functionality is temporarily on hold. Please contact Member Support.

  • How do I know if the CPD is verifiable or non-verifiable?

Please refer to the Member’s Handbook – Regulation CR 7

As a general guide, Members choose their own professional development activities and can decide whether they can contribute to their professional development using the guidelines provided in the CPD Regulation CR 7. In particular, the chosen activities must relate to a competency relevant to your current or future professional activities.

  • I have been using the My CA CPD Log but have been asked to input my hours again as part of membership renewal. Is that right?

Yes, that’s correct. You will need to input your total CPD hours as part of the membership renewal process for two reasons:

Use of the My CA CPD Log is not compulsory. While Regulation CR 7 requires members to maintain a log of CPD, it doesn’t have to be the My CA CPD Log. However, we have made it easy to track your CPD with the My CA CPD Log.

The Mandatory Notifications section of renewal is a legal declaration of CPD undertaken during the membership period, allowing us to ensure our members are meeting their obligations and that we can continue to protect the designations. The additional detail included in your CPD Log will be important if you are selected for a CPD audit.
