  • Will LinkedIn Learning courses count towards my CPD?

Members choose their own professional development activities and can judge whether they can contribute to their professional development using the guidelines provided in the member regulations. In particular, the chosen activities must relate to a competency relevant to your current or future professional activities.

Note: This learning is not auto-tracked, members will need to manually log CPD. All Learning is auto logged on the LinkedIn platform.

    For Australian members

Certain LinkedIn Learning courses may be counted towards your formal CPD requirements if they are in line with the guidelines set out in CR7 and Schedule 1 of CR 7, which can be found here:
    https://www.charteredaccountantsanz.com/member-services/member-obligations/members-handbook

In addition to being relevant to your current or future professional activities, typically formal CPD is more likely to have interactive learning and sometimes an assessment component.

Several LinkedIn Learning courses include assessment components and are delivered in a way that would constitute formal CPD for Australian members.

We will also review and identify LinkedIn Learning courses over the FY20 membership year that meet the formal CPD requirement. As a general guide, we would consider a course must have a minimum 1-hour duration in line with existing guidance on formal learning.

It remains the member's responsibility to assess their ongoing professional development and undertake an appropriate range of learning activities and topics. It is important all members proactively manage their CPD and include any mandatory technical or ethical-based CPD requirements prescribed as part of holding a specific registration or specialisation. Members can also access information on CPD requirements for registrations and specialisations in CR7 and CR6.

For New Zealand and international members

For members in New Zealand and overseas, certain LinkedIn Learning courses may be counted towards verifiable CPD requirements if they are in line with the guidelines set in CR7 and Schedule 2 accompanying CR7, which can be found here: https://www.charteredaccountantsanz.com/member-services/member-obligations/members-handbook

In addition to being relevant to your current or future professional activities, as a general guide relevant higher-quality verifiable CPD is more likely to have interactive learning, sometimes have an assessment and involve teaching by competent specialists.
