Pathway for ISCA and ICAZ members

Apply for CA ANZ membership as a full ISCA or ICAZ member

If you’re a full member of the Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA), or the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe (ICAZ), you may be eligible for special admission to Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) membership.

Joining CA ANZ means recognition in Australia, New Zealand, and across the globe, plus access to the benefits of a global network of 140,000+ Chartered Accountants.

Why apply?

As a CA ANZ member, you’ll gain:

  • recognition as a Chartered Accountant in Australia and New Zealand, and across the globe.
  • access to member benefits, resources, and support tailored to your career.
  • entry into a respected network of professionals across Australia, New Zealand and beyond.

Who is eligible?

To apply, you need to be a current full member in good standing, who:

  • gained membership through the standard Professional Program of ISCA or ICAZ (not via third-party arrangements).
  • can provide supporting documentation (see below).

What you’ll need for your application

For ISCA members:

  • Letter of Good Standing (issued within 3 months, confirming membership details, CPD compliance, and no disciplinary sanctions).
  • Proof of identity (passport, driver’s licence, or equivalent official ID).
  • Two references from CA ANZ members.
    • Consideration can be made if one of the two references is from a full member of a GAA body that we hold a reciprocal arrangement with or an FCCA member of ACCA (minimum 3 years’ standing).
  • NZ applicants only: a Ministry of Justice report (dated within 6 months). If you’ve lived overseas for more than 12 months in the last 10 years, you’ll also need a police report from that country.
  • Completed Special Admission to Membership form

For ICAZ members

  • Letter of Good Standing (issued within 3 months, confirming your membership status, number, and entry pathway).
  • Proof of identity (passport, driver’s licence, or equivalent official ID).
  • Two references from CA ANZ members or full members of another GAA body that we hold a reciprocal arrangement with (minimum 3 years’ standing).
  • Completed Special Admission to Membership form

What to expect

  • Processing time: We’ll confirm current timelines via email once your application is received.
  • Next step: You will be notified by email about the outcome and any further requirements.

Thinking ahead

If you plan to offer services to the public or perform audits in Australia or New Zealand, you will also need to also apply for:

  • A Certificate of Public Practice (CPP)
  • Audit rights in Australia or New Zealand

Certificate of Public Practice (CPP)

If you intend to offer public accounting services in Australia or New Zealand, you’ll need a Certificate of Public Practice (CPP). This certificate confirms you meet Australia and New Zealand’s professional and regulatory requirements to practise as a public accountant.

Audit rights

Being admitted as a CA ANZ member does not automatically grant you statutory audit rights. These are separately regulated in each country.

Audit regulation in New Zealand

In New Zealand, audit rights are regulated by the Financial Markets Authority (FMA). To conduct audits of certain entities, you must register as a licensed auditor and meet additional requirements.

Audit regulation in Australia

In Australia, audit regulation is overseen by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC). To sign off on audits of companies or regulated entities, you must be a registered company auditor with ASIC.
