New members walked down the virtual red carpet to enter the Difference Makers Theatre where they were entertained, honoured while celebrating with their peers, mentors, friends and family.

In a year of uncertainty, 3990 new members came together to celebrate achieving their designation. 

The Entertainment

The audience were kept entertained by renowned talent and inspired by notable young professionals who are making a difference.


Welcome

Renowned standup comedian and television host Susie Youssef was the Master of Ceremony for the evening. 

 

Keynote Speaker

Internationally acclaimed engineer of humanities, Dr Jordan Nguyen, inspired new members to make a positive impact in their communities by sharing his story of how he has made a difference in the lives of those living with physical disabilities. 

 

Panelists session

Young members Ben Eisikovich CA and Priya Singh FCA captivated the audience in a panel discussion which explored how members can make a difference in every stage of their career. 

Ben Eisikovich CA is a proud Kamilaroi man and Chartered Accountant. Ben's passion for all things business and the interconnected benefits that flow as a result of financial literacy, led him to found Indigenous Finance and Business (IFAB).

Priya Singh FCA is founder & CEO of Karma Collective and Mentor me Fiji Foundation. In 2019, Priya was named a double-nominee for New Zealander of the Year in two categories — Young New Zealander of the Year and Local Hero award.

 

The Comedy Act

Stand-up comedian Lizzy Hoo brought laughter to the Foyer Bar as she recounted her experiences of working in an accounting firm and attending accounting conferences (she was surprised at how accountants can throw a party).

Meet our new Difference Makers

Our members celebrated in style, and they shared it on social. They wore the CA Graduation Cap on Instagram stories, added stickers to their photos, and posted their red carpet look at the event.


Alan Tse CA "I want to make a social impact with my CA skill set, which is why I co-founded my own alcohol-free beverage start-up, to normalise alcohol-free drinking in Australia and the corporate world where drinking and socialising are so intertwined."
Georgina Read CA "I would like to use my skills and expertise in the accountancy profession to assist organisations respond to climate change. I believe I have a responsibility as a CA to prompt meaningful change in this space."

The Charge

Our New Members recited The Chartered Accountants ANZ Charge to signify their achievement and promise to uphold the ethics and integrity of becoming a Chartered Accountant.
