Chartered Accountants recognised in 2025 Australia Day and NZ New Year honours

Chartered Accountants ANZ congratulates CAs recognised for the difference they have made to their communities.

In brief

  • Nine members of our profession have been recognised across Australian and New Zealand Honours lists in January 2025.
  • The New Zealand Honours awarded by King Charles III recognise, celebrate and say thank you to those who achieve their best and serve others.

New Zealand New Year Honours

Emeritus Professor Jillian (Jill) Hooks CNZM CA (Auckland) Companion of New Zealand Order of Merit for services to accountancy and education.

Mr Peter Hensman, KSM FCA (Havelock North) The King’s Service Medal for services to cricket and the community.

Mrs Susan (Sue) Lyall Priest KSM CA (Whangamatā) The King’s Service Media for services to Māori and conservation.

Mr Craig Wells KSM FCA (Whangārei) Awarded The King’s Service Media for services to business and the community.

Australia Day Honours

Mr Russell Postle AM FCA (QLD) Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to community health, the accountancy profession, and to the community.

Mr Peter Bray OAM CA (NSW) Medal of the Order of Australia for service to the community of the Southern Highlands.

Mr Gregory Clareburt OAM CA (QLD) Medal of the Order of Australia for services to the community of the Noosa region to the community of the Noosa region.

The late Mr Roger Lynch OAM FCA (NSW) Medal of the Order of Australia for services to the community of the Great Lakes region.

Mr Brenton Perks OAM FCA (SA) Medal of the Order of Australia for service to horse racing, and to business.
