Brisbane’s New Member Ceremony brought together new Chartered Accountants, their families, friends and mentors for a special evening recognising the dedication behind achieving the CA designation and celebrating the opportunities ahead.

The evening gave Queensland’s newest members the chance to pause and share the occasion with the people who supported them along the way.

Hosted by Mark Doorly, CA ANZ Queensland Regional Manager, the ceremony marked this significant moment in their professional journeys.

The evening included presentations recognising 109 new members, alongside dinner, networking and messages from leaders and members of the profession.

2025 Queensland Young CA of the Year Brittany Auckland CA shared reflections from her own experience since completing the CA Program. She encouraged new members to remember that there is no single definition of success, to protect the things that matter outside work, give back to others and remain curious throughout their careers.

2026 CA ANZ President Naomi Walsh FCA reflected on the many directions a career as a Chartered Accountant can take, reminding new members that their CA qualification provides a strong foundation while giving them the freedom to shape a career that works for them. She also spoke about belonging to a profession built on trust, ethics, community and service, and encouraged new members to consider the contribution they can make along the way.

A particularly meaningful moment came when Fiona Brazier CA, Chair of the CA ANZ Queensland Regional Council, invited Chartered Accountants across the room to stand together and recite the Chartered Accountants Commitment. The Commitment reinforces the professional values of integrity, ethical practice, continued learning, public interest and contribution to the community.

Beyond the presentation of certificates, the evening was an opportunity for new members to connect with the broader CA community and reflect on what achieving the designation represents as they begin the next stage of their careers.

The strong interest in this year’s ceremony made the occasion even more special, with so many people coming together to share in the celebration.

Congratulations to every new member recognised on the night. Achieving the CA designation is an accomplishment to be proud of and the beginning of an exciting new chapter.
