Celebrating making a difference for Queensland members in 2025
Reflecting on another successful year of member engagement in Queensland, with exciting plans for 2026.
In Brief
- Regional Forums delivered in-person CPD and networking in Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Sunshine Coast, and Toowoomba.
- Coffee Connect sessions offered relaxed opportunities for members to meet and share ideas.
- Successful collaborations with CPA Australia, Bond University, and GIA created valuable learning experiences.
As we reflect on 2025, it’s clear that our regions have delivered an outstanding year of engagement, connection, and professional development for members across Queensland. From new initiatives to collaborative events, the energy and commitment shown by our committees and members have been nothing short of inspiring.

Introducing Regional Forums
One of the most exciting developments this year was the introduction of our Regional Forum events in Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Sunshine Coast, and Toowoomba. These forums were designed to provide members with valuable face-to-face CPD opportunities while fostering meaningful connections within their local communities. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive – members appreciated the chance to learn, share insights, and reconnect with old friends while meeting new ones.
Building on this success, we’re thrilled to announce that in 2026, these forums will evolve into half-day events, offering even more depth and value. Committees are already working hard to shape next year’s calendar, ensuring these gatherings continue to meet the needs of our members.

Coffee Connect: Simple, Effective, and Popular
Another highlight of 2025 was the growth of Coffee Connect sessions across the region. These informal meetups proved to be a fantastic way for members to engage without the pressure of a formal event. Whether hosted by us or in collaboration with other membership bodies, Coffee Connect created a space for genuine conversations and networking. The simplicity of the format – conversation over coffee – was a winning formula, and we’re excited to see even more of these sessions in 2026.
Collaborative Success
Collaboration was a key theme this year, and we’re proud of the partnerships that brought additional value to our members. On the Sunshine Coast, we teamed up with CPA Australia for a dynamic panel event at UniSC, which sparked insightful discussions on emerging AI trends. On the Gold Coast, our involvement in Bond University’s Business Links series provided members with access to thought leadership and practical strategies for business growth. In Toowoomba, we partnered with the Governance Institute of Australia (GIA) for a locally relevant roundtable, ensuring members had access to expertise tailored to their region.
These collaborations not only enriched our event offerings but also strengthened professional networks across industries – something we know is vital for our members’ success.

Looking Ahead to 2026
The enthusiasm and engagement we’ve seen this year set a strong foundation for 2026. Committees are already deep in planning, with a calendar that promises more opportunities for learning, networking, and collaboration. Expect to see expanded forums, more Coffee Connect sessions, and continued partnerships that bring diverse perspectives to our members.
As we move forward, we remain committed to creating spaces where members can connect, learn, and thrive. Thank you to everyone who attended, contributed, and supported our regional initiatives in 2025. Your involvement is what makes these events so impactful.
Here’s to another year of growth, connection, and success in 2026!
