On Thursday, 20 March, the Queensland Member Engagement team hosted a memorable ‘Cheers to 25 Years’ Milestone Celebration at their office overlooking the beautiful Maiwar (Brisbane River). This event provided a fantastic networking opportunity, reuniting members of the graduating CA ANZ class of 2000 and allowing members to reconnect with old peers.

In 2025, over 140 Brisbane-based members reached this special milestone, with 33 attending the evening's celebration. Many recipients brought along guests, including family, friends and colleagues, creating a memorable and celebratory atmosphere.

The event commenced with arrival canapés and networking drinks before Mark Doorly, Queensland Regional Manager, took to the stage to set the scene from 25 years ago. In the year 2000, the average house price in Queensland was $200,000 and the average wage in Australia was $34,700. Cargo pants, denim skirts, platform sneakers, butterfly hairclips, and low-rise jeans were all the fashion. Following this nostalgic trip down memory lane,  the award presentations occurred, followed by a speech and toast from Queensland Regional Council Chair, Jodie Mittelheuser CA. To conclude the formalities, all milestone recipients gathered  on stage for a commemorative group photo.

Among those in  attendance  were fellow Queensland Regional Council members Shane Simmons FCA, Samara Badgery FCA and Jillian Richards FCA, who mingled with members and joined in the celebrations. The atmosphere was further enhanced by John, the DJ from Together Agency, who played the greatest hits from 25 years ago, spanning the ‘80s and ‘90s.Before departing, guests  indulged  in CA ANZ-branded cupcake dessert, a sweet ending to a memorable eveningWe hope our members had a wonderful time celebrating their achievement alongside loved ones and fellow members.
