On Thursday 5 June 2025, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) hosted the annual Gold Coast Gala at the iconic Southport Yacht Club. The event provided a stunning backdrop for a night dedicated to celebration, recognition and making new connections.
The evening brought together members from across the region for an evening of camaraderie, honouring the outstanding achievements and milestones of our Chartered Accountants community over the past year. The relaxed and festive atmosphere featured dinner, drinks, cupcakes, and plenty of lively conversation. Mark Doorly, Queensland Regional Manager, served as MC for the night, keeping the energy high and the audience entertained.
We welcomed several distinguished guests, including Grant Ellis FCA, President of CA ANZ, along with Queensland Regional Councillors: Jodie Mittelheuser CA, Shane Simmons FCA, Heather Smith FCA, and Matthew Green FCA. Also in attendance were dedicated members of the local region committee: Janelle Manders FCA, Scott Barrett CA, and Pamela Pointon FCA.
President Grant Ellis FCA commend members on their remarkable achievements, highlighting the enduring value of the Chartered Accountant designation and the global opportunities it unlocks. Local leader Janelle Manders FCA delivered a heartfelt address, reflecting on the strength, spirit, and camaraderie of the Gold Coast CA community. Her words were a powerful call to action, encouraging members to remain active and connected. The evening concluded with Jodie Mittelheuser CA leading attendees in the recitation of the CA Commitment, a unifying moment that underscored the shared values and professional pride that bind the CA community together.
A total of 24 members were formally recognised during the evening, including those celebrating 25, 40, 50, 60, and 70-year membership milestones, a newly appointed Fellow Chartered Accountant, Merit Award recipients, and our new members. Congratulations to all award recipients on such remarkable accomplishments.
It was a truly fantastic evening—filled with warmth, laughter, and meaningful connections. These events remind us of the strength of our professional community and the importance of celebrating both individual and collective success.
