What have you and your teams been doing for Te Wiki o Te Reo – Māori Language Week?
Te Wiki o Te Reo is about celebrating and promoting the Māori Language, a taonga for all New Zealanders. Our teams at CA ANZ started the week off taking part in a virtual ‘Māori Language Moment’, learning karakia and doing a fun online quiz. Have you signed up to get involved with Tikanga, Cultural leadership and the Workplace?
Huge Congratulations to all the Winners and our fabulous fellow Chartered Accountants who were to the fore at the 2020 New Zealand CFO Awards, including taking out the CFO of the Year Award, the “pre-eminent recognition of financial professionals in New Zealand”.
Voting is officially open! If you are a full member, you should have now received an email from Electionz.com to cast your vote and have a say on who will represent you locally and within New Zealand in your professional body on New Zealand CA ANZ Council. Voting Closes on 2 October – this is super important and should be something you seriously consider participating in – this year we have 6 incredible members who are up for election – so let’s give them the support they deserve for volunteering to be the voice of our region.
Have you seen our member’s in the media lately? So good to see such inspiring stories being shared across Aotearoa as #DifferenceMakers.
Let us know if you have an amazing story to share of local CA’s making a real difference in their community, within business or the profession and actively demonstrating what it means to be a Difference Maker.
Do you have an opinion or valuable insights on the impact of new accounting standards including leases, revenue and financial instruments and changes in the pipeline? Have your say in our short survey.
With so much change, continuous disruption and uncertainty – Wellness is still such a super important thing for us to stay on top of and this involves checking-in with your people. Take a squiz at this new wellbeing tool to help small NZ businesses. The Xero-created tool aims to promote healthy conversations and activities connected to wellbeing and really gives leaders simple actions on how to introduce wellbeing in to the workplace.
Don’t forget that on Thursday 24 September 2020 it is officially Auditor Proud Day! This year #AuditorProud Day gives a nod to #AuditInAction. Faced with the havoc on businesses large and small caused by the COVID-19 shutdown, the profession has demonstrated resilience, adaptability, responsiveness and creativity, so let’s all show some love to the Auditors in your lives – cupcakes, morning tea, a shout out of acknowledgement – it doesn’t matter how big or small, let’s all show some love!
At CA ANZ we believe it's important to give te reo a go, even if you don't know much. Trying is better than not doing anything. Simple little commitments from us all can do so much for Te Reo Māori, like using kia ora (hello) and ka kite (see you).
Kia kaha e hoa mā! Let's go team!
