2020 Update: Maximise Your Membership in 2020 – 30 January 2020, Auckland
More than 700 members joined us online and in person to hear the CA ANZ Auckland team present an update on key initiatives, opportunities and matters that are relevant to you as a member. This session was aimed at equipping members with the knowledge and tools to get the most out of their CA ANZ membership in the year ahead and to uncover the many channels that are at your fingertips to stay on top of your continued professional development (CPD) requirements. Leading Women in Finance: Leverage your Network – Build your Career – 26 February 2020, Auckland
Chartered Accountants ANZ recently partnered with Westpac NZ for an industry wide networking series – Leading Women in Finance, to promote, develop and celebrate female talent in the finance sector, starting with this exciting series with 'Leverage your Network – Build your Career'.
Our panellists discussed the importance of networks and how they have developed, built and leveraged these in their careers to date and how that translated into opportunities and ultimately success. The panel discussion was led by Angela Cameron, CEO at Consult Recruitment, Ian Hankins, CFO at Westpac, Priya Singh, ex-Fonterra General Manager and Entrepreneur as well as Peter Vial, NZ Country Head for Chartered Accountants ANZ who facilitated the discussion.
The event sold out, with 240 members in attendance. Watch this space for future events in this series.
NZ Public Practice Roadshow – 25-27 February 2020, Whangarei, Auckland North, Auckland Central Auckland & Auckland South
We had a great turnout for this year's Public Practice Roadshow. These interactive sessions provided updates on recent practice review results, common complaints against members and member queries as well as outlining key changes to the Code of Ethics and NZICA Rules. Information was also provided on recent findings from DIA's regulatory activities in respect of AML, an update on impending regulatory and legislative changes as well as information on tools and resources available to support members in public practice.

A Special Evening with Sir Donald Brydon - 5 March 2020, Auckland – POSTPONED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Unfortunately Sir Donald Brydon is now unable to travel to New Zealand next week due to Covid-19 and travel restrictions. Sir Donald has found the decision to cancel his trip very difficult to make and is disappointed he cannot be with us.
The evening event on Thursday 5 March is cancelled. We hope this turns out to be just a postponement and that we will be able to get Sir Donald down to New Zealand later in the year. Watch this space.
