Dr Ziggy Switkowski’s Review of Governance, Culture and Accountability at PwC Australia, and both PwC Australia’s Statement of Facts and Management Response and Action Plan work together to provide a detailed explanation of the timelines relating to the PwC confidentiality breach and its forward plan.

We note that PwC Australia accepts full responsibility for the historical misconduct that occurred and that it is undertaking significant repairs to improve the firm’s internal processes, governance, accountability and culture going forward as it works to restore trust.

CA ANZ considers the reports to be both frank and thorough and the review recommendations to be sound. They will take time for all parties to digest. Effective implementation of Dr. Switkowski’s recommendations is now required to rebuild PwC’s trust with the Australian community and support the repair of wider damage to the profession’s reputation.

CA ANZ’s independent Professional Conduct Committee is assessing the implications of the released reports in relation to its ongoing investigations into PwC Australia and individuals.
