We provided a written submission to Treasury in support of amendments under Division 1 – sustainability reporting, which amends the Corporations Act 2001 to clarify and extend limited immunity provisions to all sustainability reports, whether required under the Act or not.

The submission addresses the application of limited immunity to voluntarily prepared climate-related disclosures and extends the definition of a sustainability report to include those prepared as a condition of an ASIC class order. The amendments aim to provide clarity and consistency for reporting entities preparing sustainability reports on a voluntary basis, ensuring this practice is not discouraged and aligning it with financial reporting for ASIC class order applications.
