CA ANZ made a submission to the XRB on their Request for Information on Climate Reporting.

We noted our overall support for international alignment given that many New Zealand companies operate across multiple jurisdictions. We used the experience of global accounting standards to highlight the benefits for staff mobility and staff retention.

We balanced these considerations with the need for policy certainty and simplicity to help CREs invest appropriately in reporting and assurance processes, advocating for minor changes to NZ CS to enable interoperability with IFRS S2, allowing companies to produce a single climate statement.
