Submission on XRB proposed 2025 amendments to climate and assurance standards

Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) has provided detailed feedback to XRB on their proposed 2025 amendments to the climate and assurance standards. We do not support extending the adoption provisions for scope 3 GHG emissions disclosure. We are supportive of a one-year extension for assurance requirements to allow time for systems to improve after an initial year of disclosure. Our submission highlights the materiality of anticipated financial impacts to investors and the impact of ongoing consultations on certainty for CREs.
