In August 2025, Treasury released a consultation paper on climate-related Transition Planning Guidance. The guidance aims to provide an overview of best practices in transition planning and to endorse a recommended framework for transition plan disclosures.

CA ANZ responded to the consultation paper and included feedback relating to the purpose of guidance and the need for practical support for preparers including a clear distinction between transition planning (the internal process) and the disclosure of a transition plan.

CA ANZ also outlined support for internationally aligned designed principles and recommended for Treasury to collaborate with other government agencies and industry groups to enhance the guidance.
