Our submission starts first with an overview of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand’s (CA ANZ) education pathway to the Chartered Accountant (CA) designation, which we provide as context and rationale for our profound interest in the proposals. We then highlight the current critical skill shortage in the accounting profession before commenting on several of the key issues raised in the consultation document that are relevant to us, including what we consider is necessary for developing a robust vocational education model.
