Our submission to the Economic Development, Science and Innovation Committee on the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism (Supervisor, Levy, and Other Matters) Amendment Bill expressed support for the move to a single supervisor but noted the importance of ensuring reporting entities have confidence that sector specific knowledge is retained and that the single supervisor is properly resourced to effectively supervise all sectors. Our submission also commented on the importance of ensuring that the levy is designed in such a way that it is cost-effective for the supervisor to administer and that it requires minimal additional compliance effort by leviable entities.
