On 25 February 2022, CA ANZ and CPA Australia submitted a joint submission in response to Treasury’s public consultation on Supporting business adoption of electronic invoicing. 

In our submission we recommend that the Government: 

• does not introduce the Business eInvoicing Right (BER) or any other policy that effectively mandates the adoption of eInvoicing 
• encourages the adoption of eInvoicing through incentives, free education and training, and raising awareness of its benefits 
• builds in a comprehensive review process after each phase of the implementation process before medium and small businesses are included, if the BER is introduced 
• considers rolling out eInvoicing across sectors and/or running eInvoicing pilots along end-to-end supply chains consisting of large, medium-sized and small businesses.
