Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) has provided detailed feedback to the Attorney General’s Department on the Strengthening the Modern Slavery Act consultation paper. Drawing on CA ANZ’s experience as a reporting entity under the Australian and UK Modern Slavery Acts and as an industry body representing the views of finance professionals in business and practice.

The submission addresses potential changes to reporting criteria, compliance and enforcement, joint reporting, voluntary reporting, and notification requirements to cease reporting, aiming to enhance clarity, compliance, and effectiveness of the Modern Slavery Act framework.
