Our submission outlines our broad support for the policy intent and drafting of the Bill. We welcome the move to an hours-based accrual system, but note that look back periods can add administrative burden for entities and that it is important to closely monitor the implementation of this aspect of the Bill in practice.

We also note the importance of the provision of sufficient guidance and support to employers as they update their systems, policies and practices during the implementation period.
