The Australian Government released the Australian data strategy which outlines a whole-of-economy vision to become a modern, data-driven society by 2030.
In response to the Government’s strategy, we provided feedback to the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet highlighting the need for a streamlined Government led approach, including a single Government interaction point, which focuses on individuals and business and how they interact with data.
We also highlight points from our recent submission to the Department of Home Affairs on the National Data Security Action Plan including, in our opinion, the consumer data right does not currently empower citizens, consumers or businesses because access to their own data is restricted as a consequence of standards intended to protect it from misuse.
