In our joint submission with CPA Australia on the Clean Energy Regulator’s consultation on proposed changes to the safeguard mechanism reforms we outline our broad support of the proposed reforms to the Safeguard Mechanism which are in line with the Government’s increased National Disclosure Commitment and the targets it has set for itself and Australia. We also recognise the importance of the Safeguard Mechanism as an integral component of the Powering Australia policy.

Our views that have been expressed fall within our own areas of expertise and from the vantage point of where the accounting profession can add value to amended methodology and processes contemplated by the Government.
