Joint submission on Consumer data right (CDR) – rules amendments (version 3)

Our joint submission supported the inclusion in the CDR eco-system of trusted advisers to recognise the trust consumers place in our members.

On 30 July 2021, CA ANZ with CPAA, IPA and ICB provided a joint submission to the Treasury on the proposed amendments to the CDR rules.

We supported the inclusion of the class ‘Trusted Adviser’ in the CDR rules which will allow consumers to consent to their data being disclosed to our members when required to fulfil a service.

We sought that all participants in the CDR eco-system, those that hold and store consumer data, be required to facilitate the nomination of, and disclosure to, a trusted adviser. Further, that disclosure to a trusted adviser must be free of charge.

We would like to thank the members of joint professional bodies for contributing to this submission.
