Submission on the AUASB’s Agenda Consultation 2022-23
Every five years the AUASB seeks feedback on which projects it should include on its future work program
In Brief
- Our submission is largely supportive of the AUASB’s proposed future work program and priorities.
- In particular we support sustainability assurance being a key priority.
- We also encouraged the AUASB to make the eventual less complex entities auditing standard available in Australia.
CA ANZ has lodged a submission on the AUASB’s Agenda Consultation.
We are largely supportive of the AUASB’s work program and priorities. Our submission encouraged the board to make sustainability assurance a key priority, due to the rapid development of reporting standards in this area and the need for Australia to engage with the international development of standards to provide assurance over the ISSB Sustainability Disclosure Standards and other standards which may emerge.
We also encouraged the board to make the IAASB’s eventual less complex entity (LCE) auditing standard available for use in Australia as we believe it will be beneficial for audit quality overall and that there is a population of practitioners who will benefit from a standalone LCE standard.
