About Joshua Hickford FCA

A proud Chartered Accountant, Josh currently holds the Chief Executive position at Taranaki Foundation.

Josh’s career has spanned NZ Cricket, PwC and TSB Bank. Triumphing over cancer, Josh found purpose in giving back, co-founding Ripple—a nationwide cancer support app—and supporting the Cancer Society of NZ.

Recognised as a 2021 Local Hero Medallist and Semi-Finalist in the Kiwibank New Zealander of the Year Awards, Josh’s impact extends across New Zealand. His involvement with Community Foundations of Aotearoa New Zealand and the Cancer Society has taken him across the nation, showcasing his belief in grassroots initiatives’ potency.

Josh has a strong and deep commitment to CA ANZ and the potential the profession has for our future Difference Makers. He has previously been a Presidents Prize nominee, Young Regional Advocate, named as one of the 20 CAs under 35 to watch and has featured several times in Acuity, including a cover story in 2020. Josh has been involved in his Local Committee since becoming a member, often taking on MC roles. He currently sits on the NZ Council and other sub-committees.

In 2022, Josh’s exceptional contributions garnered him a Fellowship, underscoring his commitment to both his profession and community.

With CA ANZ, Josh envisions a brighter future for our accountants of the future, fuelled by a robust and adaptive profession, wide community engagement, key strategic partnerships, and bringing out one’s passion.

Outside of the office, Josh enjoys time in the outdoors making memories with his young family and was even a castaway on Survivor NZ.
