About Chris George FCA

Chris George is an audit professional with over 35 years of experience. He has been a partner at EY for 25 years. Throughout his career, Chris has served as audit signing partner for major listed companies and private entities across a variety of industries as well as for public sector and not for profit entities.

Chris is EY’s Global Assurance Professional Practice Director with responsibility for Asia Pacific. He is also the firm’s Global Assurance Risk Oversight Leader.

Chris role includes the development of Global EY policy in respect of accounting, audit, sustainability assurance and professional practice management matters. This incorporates responses to emerging risks, professional and regulatory developments and digital technology developments.

Chris is also the Firm’s public policy leader in Australia. He is a member and former Chair of the Australian Accounting & Assurance Public Policy Committee, which is represented by the six largest audit firms in Australia.

Chris is a former member of the Australian Auditing and Assurance Standards Board and a former member and Chair of the NSW Council of Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand. He is also a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors Reporting Committee.

Chris is based in Sydney and holds a Master of Economics degree.
