Upcoming Events

On Wednesday 5 December, the Whanganui and Manawatu Local Leadership Teams (LLTs) are holding a joint lunch in Palmerston North. This is the third year where these two LLT neighbours have shared a Christmas get-together to understand each area and look for events to collaborate on.

On Monday 10 December, the Regional Council is holding its last meeting of the year in Auckland. Your local Regional Councillors will be attending and will be able to report updates about upcoming events in the New Year.

In Wellington, one of our final functions for the year is one of our favourites. On Wednesday 19 December we are hosting a celebration for all CAs on the Pathway who have completed the Capstone modules this year. We will be meeting at München bar on Queens Wharf for a well-earned celebration.

Past Events

Capital CFO SIG Annual Dinner

About 75 people attended, who enjoyed a beautiful meal and heard from Dave Greenburg about his 25 years of experience on the Wellington Rescue helicopter and how it relates back to the boardroom. Dave was very engaging and had a great story to tell, here is the link to his website if you would like to find out more - rescuedave.com.

Whittaker's Event

On Friday 23 November the Wairarapa SIG brought about 40 of the local members a special sweet treat. Philip Poole, Chief Marketing Officer of Whittaker's, which is one of New Zealand's most iconic brands, shared their approach to marketing. The Whittaker Family has been making high-quality chocolate with the world's finest ingredients for more than 120 years. This much-loved company has been voted most trusted brand of all brands surveyed for the sixth year in a row.

Attendance may have been aided by the product available to sample.

Horowhenua Christmas Lunch

On Thursday 22 November, the Horowhenua Christmas Lunch at the Roadhouse in Levin was attended by 21 local members.

Wairarapa Quiz Night

On Thursday 29 November, the Wairarapa LLT hosted a Quiz Night at Lonestar in Masterton for their end of year event. An 'Amazing Race' was planned but due to the weather we had to change plans at the last minute. It was attended by 40 members and as usual it was a great night in the Wairarapa.

Of note

This month we also introduced CA Catalyst - CA ANZ's strategic programme to put CAs on the leading edge of accounting. This is a new strategic programme which brings together CAs from all segments, innovation communities Fishburners, Stone & Chalk and The Icehouse, and technology providers to create opportunities for a mutually beneficially collaboration.

CA Catalyst will provide opportunities for members to work alongside start-ups within innovation communities, gain access to customised training, toolkits and guides and get exposure to practical solutions. Through this, members will build personal and organisational capabilities, gain access to new markets and services and leverage innovation to provide greater value for themselves, their clients and their communities
