Program focuses on future trends
Another exciting milestone towards WCOA Sydney 2018 has been reached with the launch of the conference agenda.
It’s an exciting step, and delegates will soon discover that the rule book for typical conference formats has been ignored and replaced with a format that will transform learning experiences.
In keeping with the WCOA theme of Global Challenges | Global Leaders, delegates attending this world class accounting conference event will walk away with the inspiration to tackle the future – and the tools to do so.
"The Program and the delivery over the four congress days will break the mould of a traditional conference. I'm genuinely excited to be part of this event where our members attending will take away insight and knowledge on the key changes impacting our profession".
The WCOA Program kicks off with hands-on interactive workshops and an exciting “think and tech tank” theatre delivering demonstrations that explore innovation and technology.
More than 50 different interactive displays will showcase the very latest software and technology from around the world, and over 150 speakers will share their thoughts including unconventional disruptors, who will inspire a new perspective.
Learn, adapt, accelerate
Break-out sessions will follow three distinct themes: Learn, adapt and accelerate, with content designed to inspire new business opportunities and encourage a rethink of business models.
The Program for WCOA 2018 also sees internationally recognised speakers investigate global mega-trends such as artificial intelligence, cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology – and discuss the challenges they pose to our profession in terms of fraud, governance and ethics.
"Rarely do we see content of this quality, breadth and relevance in a single event in our region and the WCOA Program speaks directly to the challenges facing our members. The 2018 World Congress is the first in our region for nearly 50 years. I urge our members in New Zealand to consider making the short trip to Sydney to experience this incredible event".
The final day of the congress examines strategies to future-proof businesses in the wake of massive social, political and technological changes sweeping the globe.
The need for decisive, impactful leadership is now, and the World Congress of Accountants Program covers the most compelling topics facing our profession today. It delivers relevant, valuable content that will build knowledge and capability for a broad range of sectors, functions and job roles in the profession.
