Regional managers Report

As we head towards the end of 2018, now is the time to reflect on the achievements of the WA team and its members.

The WA office had a lovely morning tea on Friday 5 October where we hosted 60-year member Clifford McWhirter and his son Geoff. Mr McWhirter is 93 and spent most of his working life in practice in Narrogin. He qualified under Sir Charles Court.

The Young CAs Panel have launched their Not-for-Profit Board Experience Program and applications for the 2019 intake are now open. Are you ready for a new experience? Are you willing to invest in the careers of the next generation? This is a pilot program giving young CAs the opportunity to be an observer on a not-for-profit (NFP) board and be mentored by a CA NFP Board Member. We are currently looking for both mentees and mentors. This is a unique opportunity to experience being a part of an NFP Board during the program.

Benefits include:

  • Attending and observing board or sub-committee meetings;
  • One on one catch-ups with your NFP mentor to discuss board activity, review past meetings and prepare for future meetings; and
  • Networking with other NFP board members and board experience participants at Program events.

Members interested in being involved as either a mentor or mentee, or who would like more information or the 2019 timetable, should email
