Regional Manager update
It has been a month of celebration, connecting and re-connecting with members, and recognition of achievement for WA members. On 2 May, WA Fellows were invited to their annual FCA dinner. This event is an opportunity for our Fellows to celebrate this status, and to welcome the newly appointed Fellows into this prestigious group, and it is great to see enthusiasm grow for this wonderful event.
We also celebrated the achievement of the President’s Prize awarded to Meagan Hamblin CA. This prize is awarded once a year to one worthy young Chartered Accountant, and we are very proud that it has made its way over to WA!
The current 2019 President, Stephen Walker, was in town for the event and we thank him for making the time to come to WA and celebrate with us. We took this opportunity for him to connect with members, holding member networking drinks as well as a lunch with representatives from our various member committees. Stephen has gone away with a very good idea of the state of play in WA for Chartered Accountants – thanks to those who connected with Stephen at one or more of these opportunities!
The 2019 nomination period for Fellowship is now open, so please click the link below to find out more on the nomination process and feel free to contact the WA office for assistance on nominating your peers to become a Fellow.
WA State Council met with past State Chairs for their annual lunch. This continues to be a great opportunity to keep these member representatives abreast of national and state-based issues and activity, as well as a chance to catch up with a number of people who have contributed so much to the CA community locally. Thanks to all of those who made the time to come along.
High achieving high school students from a number of local schools came into the Perth office during a two-day period to participant in the ‘Meet the Business Leaders’ event. Students were shown the range of places that accounting can take you as well as how Chartered Accountants ANZ can support and assist in their career journey with grounding in business and finance.
