Regional manager update

The end of the financial year has seen the culmination of a lot of hard work in the form of many member activities and it has been encouraging to hear the positive feedback from members who are enjoying the range of opportunities available to them.

WA Regional Councillors and invited members held a lunch with Hon Rita Saffioti MLA, discussing the work of the State Government, and particularly the Minister's areas of focus around transport infrastructure and planning.

We welcomed new members and new Certificate of Public Practice holders in a ceremony held at the Crown in early June. We had a large number of combined new members and public practice certificate holders, and thanks to all who took the time to come and celebrate with us.

The week before, we welcomed new Provisional Members to an orientation of their first CA module, with some tips and tricks on how to tackle their studies from a program facilitator and a past student. We wish you good luck with your studies!

WA Regional Council continues to hold their meetings, where possible, in member offices - this is a great way to liaise with members and to catch up and network with your Council of representative members. To date in 2018, meetings have been held at Wesfarmers and RSM. If you would like for Council to be hosted in your office, please contact the Perth office to arrange.

YCA Charity Quiz Night

Known as the most fun evening on our calendars, it did not disappoint. With 21 teams all competing for the Quiz Cup, we were able to raise a total of $7,750 for the chosen charity, Financial Toolbox, which aims to build the financial knowledge and skills of Western Australian women to give them independence and freedom of choice throughout their lives.

Thanks to everyone who attended for their immense generosity and participation to make it a fantastic evening.

Business Forum 2018

On 13 June, we all put our finger on the pulse of the WA business sector at the WA Business Forum 2018. Attendees gained insights and practical ideas from local and global perspectives to share with colleagues and apply to their business. The WA Business Forum was designed and developed locally with input from the WA CAs in Business Panel. This ensured we provided content relevant to our members in the corporate sector, and was a smashing success.
