Regional Manager update

Recap of last month's events

We had an exciting line up of activities in August including the Post-Election Tax update by CA ANZ's Australian Tax Leader, Michael Croker, the Small Firm, Big Bang "Outsourcing" session and our half day Business Forum. Attendance at each of the events was excellent which presented a great networking opportunity for members and their guests. Thanks also to our hosts and presenters for your role in making the events such a great success!

Upcoming events

September is another busy month for the Melbourne team including a joint networking event with the Law Institute of Victoria on 6 September and our Annual Football Day on 15 September.

Please keep an eye out for invitations or search our Education Store for more information:

Andrew Quinlan CA
Regional Manager – Victoria & Tasmania

Good governance is vital to every organisation and of course the recent member vote has approved changes to the governance structure of CA ANZ, and in particular the composition of Regional Councils around the globe.

One of the changes, subject to final approval by the Governor General of Australia is that the Victorian Regional Council will, from the start of 2020, be able to appoint up to three Councillors from the membership, in addition to those Councillors elected by Victorian members. In anticipation of the changes coming into effect, I'd like to ask members interested in finding out about serving on Regional Council to notify their interest to Regional Manager, Victoria and Tasmania, Andrew Quinlan and Andrew.

Serving on Regional Council provides members with a great opportunity to provide input to the activities of CA ANZ and to help shape how the organisation interacts with its members. I'd encourage anyone who may be curious about how they may contribute to make contact with Andrew.

Finally, congratulations to those members who attended the Anniversary celebration earlier this month – CA ANZ Deputy President Peter Rupp presented certificates to members with 25 years through to 70 years' membership – a great evening spent catching up with old friends and reminiscing about the good old days!
