Recap of last month’s events/activity:

Thought Leadership Paper

CA ANZ has just released a new paper in conjunction with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Singapore, focusing on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and ethics, titled Machines can learn, but what will we teach them?" The paper provides insights into how AI is revolutionising our world but not necessarily helping us flourish as human beings. It recognises that while AI brings with it a range of ethical considerations, they should not be left to the tech giants to decide. Importantly, we also look into the role the accounting profession has to play in shaping how AI is integrated into businesses in a socially responsible way.

The paper is available for download at here

Chartered Accountants Advisory Group (CAAG)

I wanted to highlight once again the important work done by the Victorian Chartered Accountants Advisory Group (CAAG) and once more thank the members for their continued service to the Victorian membership. For those members not aware of CAAG, they provide counselling and support for CAs facing ethical dilemmas or weighing career decisions.
The Victorian CAAG is chaired by David Gibbs FCA and consists of a local panel of experienced, senior CAs with a broad cross-section of public practice, business and public sector experience offering guidance for fellow members. They provide advice and support to CA ANZ members on professional and ethical matters. The service is free and all discussions are strictly confidential.
If you would like to know more about CAAG or refer a query to the group, please email me at duncan.pittard@charteredaccountantsanz.com
