Two CA ANZ members in Black Caps squad playing Pakistan

Jeet Raval and Will Somerville, both members of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, are part of the New Zealand Black Caps cricket squad playing Pakistan in United Arab Emirates.

In Brief

  • Opening batsman Jeet Raval has played in the first two tests
  • Offspinner Will Somerville is in the test squad
  • The third and deciding test starts on 3 December

Opening batsman Raval was part of the team that won the first test by just four runs, and this week, lost the second test.

He is a provisional member with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Auckland, majoring in accounting and commercial law and plans to work towards his CA designation once his professional playing days are over.

Somerville, an offspinner who was brought into the test squad to play Pakistan in place of the injured Todd Astle, is yet to play a test.

The Otago University graduate worked as a CA in Sydney before becoming a professional cricketer with Cricket New South Wales and this year, Auckland Cricket and the Black Caps.

The third and deciding test starts on 3 December.
