Recap of last month’s events/activity
December was a very important month in the regional calendar as we announced the recipients of the 2017 CA ANZ fellowships. In total fourteen new Fellows have been recognised in the South Island:
- John Ryder, Julie Millar, Brent Hassall, Gordon Hansen, Grant Jarrold, Karl Smith
- Michael Woodhouse, Murray Valentine, Michael Horne, Ian McPherson, David Lont, Jane Taylor, Peter Carnahan, and Peter Heenan
During the month of December we were also delighted to announce that Gill Cox of Christchurch has been recognised for his considerable contribution to the accounting profession and the Canterbury business community with a Life Membership.
We are looking forward to hosting member events across the region this year to recognise and celebrate their respective achievements.
The New Year has started relatively quietly for our regional team as member activities and events took their customary holiday break over the Christmas and New Year periods. We have used this time to reflect on all the member events undertaken in 2017, and plan for this year to ensure we provide the broadest range of opportunities for our South Island membership.
During the 2017 year we introduced a number of new events that were directly in response to requests received from our membership. These included the launch of two new member ceremonial events in Christchurch and Central Otago. Both of these events recognise the achievements of those members entering into membership, and those who have achieved significant milestones in their careers.
We will be working with our Local Leadership Teams across the region during this year to provide a range of opportunities that will continue to focus on the needs of our memberships in terms of relevancy, connectivity, and accessibility.
Upcoming major member events:
