19 February 2018 CA Diversity: Negotiating China
Over 50 Members joined us to celebrate The Year of the Dog and treat your tastebuds to the flavours of China.
To celebrate Chinese New Year, the Chartered Accountants ANZ Diversity Panel invited members and their guests to attend a presentation that will not only create greater awareness amongst the Australian business leaders of the vast cultural differences, but also equip the audience with information and practical strategies to better engage with your Chinese business counterparts.
22 February 2018 Building Knowledge Series: State Election Analysis
Chartered Accountants in Business Panel invited members to attend an event in the lead up to the State Election. The event featured a panel of speakers assessing the policies and announcements of both sides of politics.
There was broad talk about the impact the different policies and announcements will have on the South Australian economy. Attendees were be able to come away with a clearer understanding of how policies and announcements may impact their business or clients they advise. The aim was to have a neutral and unbiased conversation, trying to sort the facts from the spin without making any predictions as to the outcome.
1 March 2018 Northern Territory Chartered Accountants Forum
Eighty four members were welcomed to the inaugural Northern Territory Chartered Accountants Forum.
Northern Territory Chartered Accountants Forum 2018 was designed to provide the leaders of today and tomorrow with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in business. Members joined the conversation and were able to hear from some of the Territory’s and Australia’s leading organisations and business leaders who provided valuable insights into how they are adapting to meet the challenges and opportunities of The Future of Business.
5 March 2018 Sharing Knowledge Series - Tax Update 2018
Over 100 members joined us to hear from Michael Croker who talked through the Chartered Accountants ANZ approach to tax advocacy, the tax policy issues he is dealing with at Government and Treasury level, as well as the current consultation agenda with the ATO. This event will also gives you an opportunity to provide feedback to Michael on tax topics of particular concern to them.
Michael discussed a number of critically important topics such as:
- The latest on the lead-up to the Federal Budget, expected to be the last pre-election Budget
- The tax policies of the major parties
- Board of Taxation’s agenda
- ATO modernisation plans and how they impact the future of tax advisory services
- Key domestic and international tax developments
